Bartending 101- Aperol Spritz, or the Dossiest and Tastiest Mixed Drink in Existence.





I could literally sum up this drink in one sentence, but it deserves more than that. It's an absolutely beautiful, light, dry, and ever so slightly fruity drink for a summer day. Picture yourself sitting in a vineyard in Italy whilst drinking this for maximum effect.



I got really carried away making this one. Tying in to a full Italian theme, we made Arabiatta and garlic bread (all vegan) from scratch. Made for a very lovely, albeit slightly boozy evening which I thoroughly recommend. Additional points for watching The Godfather pt 2 at the same time.


Ingredients

35ml Aperol- gotta be Aperol. Otherwise its not an Aperol Spritz. Derp.

100ml Prosecco- you can go mad and add champagne instead if you’ve money to burn, but it adds absolutely nothing to the quality of this drink.


Method

Yup, two ingredients. Really stretching the definition of the word cocktail. Get a fairly decent sized wine glass, fill with ice and add both. Add a couple of big chunks of orange, stir lightly and drink at your leisure.
